About this game
Enter the Gungeon sends a chosen adventurer into a dungeon in search of a gun that can kill the past. You fight through floors of enemies and bosses, dodging incoming fire with rolls and using overturned tables as cover. Its layouts are procedurally assembled from handcrafted rooms. Equipment shapes the journey downward. Collect loot, trade with merchants and discover guns with different ammunition and tactical uses, including fish and bees as projectiles. The recurring decisions concern how to use the weapon at hand and when to attack, evade or take cover. You can tackle the pixel-art dungeon alone or join another player in local co-op on one system.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising match for players who enjoy improvising under fire.
Dodging and taking cover alongside shooting should appeal to players who want survival to involve movement as well as aim. Changing layouts and weapons can reward adaptation, although that uncertainty is less attractive if you prefer rehearsing a fixed route.
Strengths
- Rolls and table cover give movement-minded players defensive choices alongside shooting.
- Weapons with different tactical uses can make unfamiliar finds an invitation to experiment.
Weaknesses
- Procedural layouts may frustrate players who prefer learning one fixed route.
Who it is for: Players drawn to bullet-dodging, unusual weapon behavior and adapting their approach as they descend.
Play notes: The supported co-op arrangement is two players together on one system.
