About this game

In Donut County, your main tool is a hole in the ground. Move it around the characters' homes and swallow their possessions; each swallowed object makes the hole grow. You play as BK, the raccoon operating these holes, whose activities consume his friends and their houses as well as their belongings. Solving the puzzles involves more than swallowing things. Combine objects inside the hole to create effects such as soup or fireworks, or catapult objects back out to affect the surroundings and solve a puzzle. The residents' different homes provide the environments for these interactions. The story also follows the consequences: after BK falls underground himself, Mira and the other trapped residents demand an explanation.

7.4 / 10Nintendo Switch

A playful fit for players who like experimenting with objects and following the consequences of their mischief.

The growing hole gives swallowing objects a visible consequence, while combinations and catapulting create reasons to consider what objects can do. BK being confronted by the residents can give that destruction a comic, personal context for players who enjoy character-led puzzles.

Strengths

  • Growth connects each swallowed object to an observable change in the player's main tool.
  • Combining and catapulting objects can encourage experimentation beyond simply clearing a scene.

Who it is for: Players interested in object interactions, physics puzzles and a story about the residents affected by their actions.
