About this game

Killia and his fellow rebels take on Void Dark across the Netherworlds. You command their army on grid maps, position units and select attacks each turn. Placing allies together enables Team Attacks, while Magichange turns monster units into weapons. Revenge Mode also opens access to Overload, adding another tool to your battle plans. Army development continues beyond individual encounters. Create units with chosen jobs and parameters, then strengthen equipment through the Item World. These systems connect the team you build with the tactics you bring to the next battle. The Complete edition also includes bonus scenarios, additional characters and extra classes that were originally sold as DLC for Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance.

8.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

A tactical RPG for players who enjoy developing an army as much as directing it.

Adjacent Team Attacks and monster-to-weapon transformations can make unit composition matter alongside positioning. Custom units and Item World strengthening offer further decisions between battles, especially for players who enjoy experimenting with character builds.

Strengths

  • Team Attacks and Magichange give army composition a practical role in battlefield plans.
  • Separate character and equipment development systems offer several ways to refine a team.

Weaknesses

  • Managing both unit builds and equipment growth may feel demanding if you mainly want a straightforward sequence of tactical battles.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy turn-based positioning, creating their own units and adjusting builds between encounters.
