About this game
Resident Evil 0 follows Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen as they investigate the Ecliptic Express, before the events of the first Resident Evil. You control their partnership yourself, alternating between the protagonists to work through puzzles and uncover the mystery. Deciding whose perspective to take is part of the investigation; the presence of two leads does not make this a cooperative multiplayer adventure. The Switch release also includes extra costumes for both characters and Wesker Mode. In that mode, Albert Wesker takes Billy's place and brings special abilities to the partnership.
Collected in series
Resident Evil follows people trying to survive biological disasters, combining dangerous exploration, puzzles and encounters with hostile creatures. Each game finds a different balance between fear and action, with fixed, over-the-shoulder and first-person perspectives changing how you face the danger.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A fit for horror players who want to coordinate a partnership through puzzles themselves.
Character switching makes the partnership a source of player decisions, which should appeal if you enjoy approaching a mystery through more than one protagonist. The prequel setting also gives series-curious players a specific earlier incident to investigate.
Strengths
- Alternating protagonists can make puzzle solving feel like coordinating a small team, while leaving the decisions with one player.
Who it is for: Players interested in a Resident Evil origin story and puzzles built around changing the character they control.
Play notes: The two protagonists are controlled by one player; this is not a multiplayer co-op game.
