About this game

Neku and his partner must complete the Reapers' Game's daily missions or face erasure. Between battles, scanning reveals fragments of people's thoughts that can point toward a solution. In combat, collected Pins supply psychic abilities with different effects and inputs, making your choice of equipment part of how you actually attack. Fashion also has practical consequences: a district's preferred brands affect battle effectiveness. Final Remix adds the A NEW DAY chapter and lets you choose original or arranged music. Handheld play uses touch controls, while TV and tabletop play use Joy-Con motion and buttons. A second player can join locally as Neku's partner with another Joy-Con.

8.1 / 10Nintendo Switch

A promising fit for action-RPG players who want equipment choices to change their physical approach to combat.

Because Pins differ in both effects and inputs, collecting abilities can invite experimentation with attack execution as well as loadouts. District-specific fashion adds another reason to reconsider equipment, particularly for players who enjoy adapting to local rules.

Strengths

  • Pin selection can make character building feel closely connected to moment-to-moment input.
  • Thought scanning gives players who enjoy investigative details something concrete to do between fights.

Weaknesses

  • Players committed to one control style may find the different handheld and television input arrangements restrictive.

Who it is for: Players interested in gesture-based combat, equipment experimentation and a mission-driven urban story.

Play notes: Handheld touch play and TV/tabletop Joy-Con play use different input arrangements; local cooperation uses a Joy-Con for each player.
