About this game

In Mineral Town, farm work starts with the ground beneath your feet: till a patch, sow suitable seeds and keep the plants watered until harvest. Ship your produce to earn money, care for animals to improve the quality of their products, and develop the farm through better tools and expanded facilities. Crop choices change with the seasons, and winter brings a break from growing them. Town life runs alongside the fields. Residents follow their own schedules, and talking or bringing gifts helps you get closer to them. Relationships with eligible residents can develop into marriage and family life. Between cultivation, improvements and visits to town, you choose which parts of your new routine to develop.

8.2 / 10Nintendo Switch

A good fit for players who enjoy turning small, repeated tasks into a farm and a social life.

Cultivation and animal care give everyday effort a tangible purpose, which should appeal if you enjoy nurturing gradual progress. Relationships provide a separate reason to leave the farm, though seasonal restrictions mean plans cannot revolve around the same crops all year.

Strengths

  • Farm improvements give routine cultivation a continuing practical goal.
  • Conversation and gifts let social progress complement agricultural goals.

Weaknesses

  • Seasonal crop restrictions may frustrate players who want to maintain an unchanged planting routine.

Who it is for: Players who like tending a place over time and dividing their attention between farming and relationships.

Play notes: Crops cannot be grown in winter.
