About this game

Rotwood sends you out to fight the corrupted beasts threatening your home. Choose a weapon, practise its combos, and discover equipment you can upgrade as you prepare for stronger opponents. You can take on these encounters alone or cooperate with up to three other players. Your choices continue during the hunt: collect power-ups and abilities, then combine them into a build for that outing. Boss encounters provide rewards that feed further progression. The recurring activity brings together weapon practice, equipment development and decisions about the abilities found on each hunt, rather than leaving all preparation outside combat.

8.2 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A promising fit for players who enjoy refining weapon skills while experimenting with hunt builds.

Weapon combos and upgradeable equipment suggest two complementary ways to work toward tougher encounters. Hunt-specific ability combinations may keep preparation interesting for players who like adapting a build while they fight.

Strengths

  • Combining abilities during a hunt can make equipment choices part of an evolving plan.
  • Solo and cooperative options let players approach the same combat focus with different social preferences.

Weaknesses

  • Players seeking combat that asks little practice may find the emphasis on weapon combos less appealing.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy learning attack sequences and testing how equipment and collected abilities work together.

Play notes: Cooperative play should not be treated as a substitute for learning a weapon's combos; those combos remain part of the combat design.
