About this game
Ethan Winters searches for his kidnapped daughter through a snow-covered village and the Gothic Castle Dimitrescu. You explore these surroundings, confront their creatures and gather crafting components. Turning those components into first-aid medicine or ammunition makes resource allocation part of the journey, while the Duke's paid weapon upgrades provide another way to prepare for encounters. Gold Edition includes the main game and the Winters' Expansion. The campaign can be experienced in first person or through its optional Third Person Mode, with viewpoint changes preserving progress. Shadows of Rose follows Rose in a separate third-person story built around using her powers to survive. The Mercenaries Additional Orders shifts attention to fighting enemy waves with additional playable characters, giving the package distinct activities beyond Ethan's search.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A survival-horror package for players who want resource decisions alongside a choice of campaign viewpoint.
Allocating crafting materials and paying for weapon improvements should appeal to players who enjoy preparation as well as combat. The separate Rose story and enemy-wave mode offer different reasons to return to the package, without implying that they share the campaign's structure.
Strengths
- Switching campaign viewpoints without losing progress should make it easier to find a preferred way to follow Ethan.
- The Rose story and expanded Mercenaries mode may suit players who want both narrative exploration and a more combat-focused alternative.
Weaknesses
- Players seeking uninterrupted shooting may find crafting allocation an unwelcome part of the campaign.
Who it is for: Players interested in a family-rescue horror story who also enjoy deciding how to spend survival resources.
Play notes: This Switch 2 package is listed for one player.
