About this game
Resident Evil 3 is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on story, case, or mission progress, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Resident Evil follows people trying to survive biological disasters, combining dangerous exploration, puzzles and encounters with hostile creatures. Each game finds a different balance between fear and action, with fixed, over-the-shoulder and first-person perspectives changing how you face the danger.

PlayStation 5AI review

Brisk action is stronger than the development of its pursuit.
Resident Evil 3 works as a concentrated escape. Dodging and shooting give direct confrontation a satisfying rhythm, while the city and hospital provide convincing places for that action. Memorable spectacle is not the problem. The limitation is how little room lies between those moments for exploration and uncertainty: Nemesis often advances a prepared sequence instead of remaining a threat that must continually be incorporated into a plan. A short, single-route structure leaves less space to develop that relationship. The native PS5 upgrade makes retries more convenient through short loading, but cannot add depth to the underlying campaign. It is better suited to players seeking brisk action horror than a fully developed urban survival adventure.
Strengths
- Dodging and gunplay sustain brisk action.
Weaknesses
- Compact scope and scripted pursuit limit suspense.
Who it is for: Players seeking concentrated action horror.
Play notes: June 2022 native PS5 single-player remake; Resistance excluded.
