About this game

Jill Valentine is caught in the destruction of Raccoon City. As a survivor of the S.T.A.R.S. unit, she must find a way out while the city’s streets and facilities become increasingly dangerous. Her story shows another side of the outbreak explored in Resident Evil 2. The remake places more emphasis on forward momentum and action encounters. Nemesis drives major confrontations, turning the escape into a sequence of urgent changes in situation. It is a focused campaign for players who want to follow Jill through the crisis and fight through the obstacles along her route.

Collected in series

Resident Evil follows people trying to survive biological disasters, combining dangerous exploration, puzzles and encounters with hostile creatures. Each game finds a different balance between fear and action, with fixed, over-the-shoulder and first-person perspectives changing how you face the danger.

Resident Evil 3

A brisk escape with strong action, but a restricted sense of discovery.

This remake works best when treated as a concentrated escape. Its combat and staging keep Jill moving through a crisis that is easy to follow, and the ruined city gives those encounters an effective backdrop. The weakness is how little space remains for the player to shape that journey. Nemesis is more often a scheduled confrontation than an uncertainty hanging over exploration, while the limited campaign breadth and modest extras reduce the reasons to return. That does not erase the quality of the moment-to-moment action, but it changes the recommendation: this suits someone looking for an energetic horror evening more than an expansive survival-horror project. A capable Switch2 conversion cannot by itself solve those structural limits. Its package also needs to be judged on its own contents, without assuming the multiplayer bundle sold on other platforms.

Strengths

  • Strong momentum and effective action staging.

Weaknesses

  • Limited campaign breadth and scripted pursuit.

Who it is for: Players seeking a short, action-led horror campaign.

Play notes: Based on the October13 North American Switch2 review; patch unspecified. This package does not include Resistance.
