About this game

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on area and route exploration, story, case, or mission progress, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

An absorbing historical RPG that demands patience with its dense systems.

Directional combat, clothing, reputation and survival needs interact so preparation can change both conversations and fights. The many rules demand attention but create a coherent role-playing cause and effect. Bohemian quests often permit detours, negotiation or another solution, making small errands unexpectedly memorable. The world rewards curiosity, although its scale asks for a substantial and patient commitment. Detailed settlements and fifteenth-century politics give Henry and Hans a tangible setting, making ordinary work meaningful. Some voices are uneven, but the world consistently supports its grounded premise. The standard PS5 review documents axis and sensitivity options that help fit the controller to the player. Dense systems still require learning, and this score does not transfer PS5 Pro performance claims to base hardware.

Strengths

  • Systems make preparation consequential.
  • Quests reward alternative approaches.

Weaknesses

  • Systems and length ask much.
  • Some voice work is uneven.

Who it is for: Players willing to invest deeply in grounded historical role-playing and slow character growth.

Play notes: Based on the 2025 base game on a standard PS5; later expansions, Hardcore mode and Pro performance are excluded.
