About this game

Pokémon Scarlet sends you across Paldea to catch Pokémon, train them and battle. Koraidon provides ways to travel over land, water and through the air. Rather than following one fixed overall route, you can move between three stories: pursuing Champion Rank through Gym challenges, confronting Titan Pokémon guarding rare ingredients, and taking on Team Star. Team Star's route uses Auto Battle against its grunts on the way to a boss. In battle, Terastallization changes a Pokémon to its Tera Type and can alter its weaknesses. This transformation is available once per battle and lasts until the battle ends. Its crystalline appearance makes the change visible as well as mechanical.

Collected in series

Pokémon is a role-playing series that began in 1996. As a Trainer, you travel the world meeting, catching and raising Pokémon. Filling your Pokédex, building a team and taking on rivals shape the adventure, while trading with friends brings new partners along for the journey.

7.9 / 10Nintendo Switch

A fit for players who want to set their next destination while developing a Pokémon team.

Moving between story paths can let curiosity guide the next objective. Terastallization adds a separate battle decision: changing type can alter weaknesses, while the once-per-battle rule makes the chosen moment matter.

Strengths

  • Different story objectives give exploration several concrete directions.
  • Changing a Pokémon's battle type offers another way to reconsider a matchup.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy collecting and training Pokémon, choosing destinations and considering type interactions.

Play notes: Online features require an update, internet access, a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership; availability varies by region.
