About this game
Pikmin 1 + 2 brings the first two adventures together in HD versions. You guide small plantlike helpers and throw them toward objects or obstacles to put them to work. Fighting the planet’s creatures is part of exploration, but those creatures can also eat your Pikmin. The first game gives Olimar a 30-day limit to recover his scattered ship parts. In the second, treasure hunting replaces the escape objective: Olimar and Louie collect valuables to repay their employer’s debt. You can switch between the leaders to direct separate groups, with purple and white Pikmin joining the available types. Daytime stops advancing inside the second game’s caves. Both games also offer optional motion controls.
Collected in series
Pikmin blends exploration and squad management as tiny plantlike helpers tackle obstacles far larger than themselves. Choosing the right helpers, sharing out jobs and bringing everyone back safely turn each expedition into a small planning puzzle.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A useful pairing for players who enjoy planning work while protecting a vulnerable squad.
Assigning Pikmin to tasks makes exploration a question of what to accomplish and what risks to take. The first game’s deadline and the second’s leader switching and caves suggest meaningfully different planning priorities.
Strengths
- Contextual tasks turn collecting and clearing paths into active squad management.
- The two adventures provide different strategic pressures through a survival limit and divided leadership.
Weaknesses
- The first game’s 30-day limit may feel restrictive if you prefer exploration without an overall deadline.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy organizing small groups, choosing priorities and weighing progress against the risk of losing helpers.
