About this game

Date and his AI-Ball partner Aiba investigate a dangerous escape game involving the missing Iris. The story moves between Investigation, Somnium and Escape: question people and examine clues with enhanced vision, enter a witness's dream, then tackle the objects and mechanisms inside a locked room. Iris can consult Date and Aiba for hints, while collected items sometimes need combining to become useful. Dream investigation has its own constraints. Aiba has six minutes inside a Somnium, and selected actions consume time. The dream reflects its subject's personality and memories; experimenting reveals Key Rules that help determine what to try next. Progress therefore connects physical clues and item puzzles with learning the logic of another person's dream.

7.5 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A promising fit for puzzle readers who enjoy moving between tangible clues and dream logic.

Combining items and uncovering dream rules could reward different kinds of deduction within one case. Somnium's spending of time on actions adds a planning constraint that will matter most to players who prefer to examine every possibility.

Strengths

  • Room-object puzzles and gradually revealed dream rules offer contrasting ways to reason through an investigation.

Weaknesses

  • The Somnium time budget may frustrate players who want unrestricted experimentation.

Who it is for: Players drawn to detective dialogue, item combinations and puzzles whose rules must first be discovered.

Play notes: The physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition requires an internet connection for its initial game download.
