About this game

Moving Out puts you to work relocating furniture around Packmore. You lift and throw objects, and the physics allow doors or windows to be broken when they stand in the way. Moving a piece of furniture therefore involves finding a route to its destination, with throwing and smashing available alongside carrying it. The story supports solo play or local cooperation for up to four players. As the company's reputation grows, jobs reach new destinations, including suburbs, farms and haunted houses. You can choose customizable mover characters, while Assist Mode offers extended time limits, level skipping and danger removal to adjust the conditions of a job.

7.1 / 10Nintendo Switch

A local coordination game for players who enjoy finding unconventional ways to move awkward furniture.

Lifting, throwing and breaking through obstacles can make route planning a source of improvised solutions rather than a single prescribed procedure. Local cooperation should particularly suit groups willing to discuss how to move an object, while Assist Mode provides ways to change the pressure of a job.

Strengths

  • Throwing furniture and breaking obstructing doors or windows give players alternative approaches to moving an object.
  • Assist Mode lets a group change time limits or hazards when those conditions do not match how they want to play.

Weaknesses

  • Players who want orderly, damage-free moving may find the encouraged smashing and throwing at odds with that preference.

Who it is for: Local groups who enjoy coordinating physical tasks, improvising routes and adjusting challenge conditions to suit the session.

Play notes: For the cooperative play described here, plan a local session with the other players.
