About this game

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion sends Marvel heroes into side-scrolling battles against Annihilus's Annihilation Wave. Cosmic Swap puts a pair of heroes at your disposal: switch between them during combat and combine their abilities into team attacks. Using characters earns skill points that improve statistics and moves or unlock abilities. You can fight alone or cooperate locally and online, with players able to join or leave during a session. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition also supports local GameShare, letting a software copy be shared with nearby systems for play together. The action is presented in full-colour pixel art.

8.3 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

For brawler fans who want character partnerships at the centre of combat.

Instant swapping and team attacks can make choosing partners part of how you approach each fight. Character improvement adds a reason to keep using a hero, while flexible co-op participation may suit groups whose players come and go.

Strengths

  • Switching heroes and combining attacks can reward players interested in complementary abilities.
  • Drop-in/drop-out cooperation can accommodate a group without keeping everyone committed to the entire session.

Weaknesses

  • Players wanting to concentrate on one character may find a paired repertoire an extra learning commitment.

Who it is for: Marvel fans who enjoy learning character combinations or sharing side-scrolling combat with a group.

Play notes: GameShare is local with nearby systems. Some connected features require Nintendo Switch Online; Cyclops and The Thing are DLC.
