About this game

Little Nightmares III follows Low and Alone as they search for a route out of the Nowhere. Their tools provide different ways to interact with obstacles: Low's bow reaches high targets and cuts ropes, while Alone's wrench breaks barriers and operates machinery. Progress depends on using these abilities to open a way through the environment. The journey crosses the sandy ruins of the Necropolis, a candy factory and a rain-soaked funfair. Residents threaten the children, making running, hiding and occasional defensive actions part of survival. You can undertake the adventure with an AI companion or cooperate online with a friend on the same platform. The characters' complementary tools remain central to progressing through the Spiral.

6.6 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A good conceptual match for players who prefer cooperative problem-solving and evasion within a horror adventure.

The bow and wrench divide environmental tasks between complementary abilities, which may appeal to players who enjoy reading a scene together. Running and hiding from the Residents places the emphasis on vulnerability and escape, making the design more relevant to those preferences than to continuous combat.

Strengths

  • Different tool functions can give cooperative partners distinct contributions to solving environmental obstacles.
  • An AI companion keeps the paired-character adventure available to players who prefer to progress alone.

Weaknesses

  • The online-only two-player format may disappoint players looking for cooperation on one console.

Who it is for: Players interested in complementary-tool puzzles, threatening environments and cooperation built around observing obstacles and escaping danger.

Play notes: Two-player cooperation requires the same platform, an internet connection and paid Nintendo Switch Online membership; local two-player play is not supported.

Moving among ruins, a factory and a funfair may give progression the character of successive nightmare scenes rather than one unchanging backdrop.

A candy factory and rain-soaked funfair can turn familiar places into unsettling hiding spaces for players drawn to distorted everyday settings.

The same-platform online requirement makes choosing a compatible partner part of arranging cooperative play, while AI companionship offers a solo alternative.
