About this game

Play a Hogwarts student in an open-world action RPG, exploring the castle, Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and surrounding countryside. Learn spells and combine them for your combat style, brew potions, and grow magical plants. Challenges grant experience that develops your abilities, giving exploration and character progression a recurring connection. This is a single-player adventure. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition supports switching between controller operation and Joy-Con 2 mouse operation. Difficulty remains adjustable during normal gameplay, with Story difficulty removing time sensitivity from puzzles. Quidditch is not playable, so the school setting's activities should be understood through its exploration, magical preparation and combat rather than that sport.

8.1 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A plausible match for players who want to explore the wizarding setting while shaping a spell-based character.

Combining spells and developing abilities could make exploration appealing to players who want their discoveries to accompany character growth. Potion and plant activities broaden that interest beyond combat, while mouse support offers an additional way to interact on this edition.

Strengths

  • Spell combinations could reward players who enjoy defining a personal approach to combat.
  • Challenges and ability progression could give roaming the setting a character-development purpose.

Weaknesses

  • Players whose priority is exploring with friends may find the single-player structure limiting.

Who it is for: Players interested in visiting Hogwarts and nearby locations, experimenting with spells and developing one wizard through a solo adventure.

Play notes: Quidditch is not playable, and the adventure does not offer cooperative play.
