About this game

Agent 47's assignments put you inside open-ended stealth environments, from a Paris fashion show to Dubai skyscrapers. You choose an approach to the target, using disguises as part of the infiltration, and unlock equipment for subsequent missions. The emphasis is on deciding how to carry out an assassination within the location. Signature Edition brings together the campaigns from HITMAN, HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3, alongside the HITMAN 2 Expansion Pack, HITMAN 3 Deluxe Pack and Seven Deadly Sins Pack. Its additional modes change the structure of an assignment: Escalations add complications across successive stages, while Freelancer sends you back to a safehouse between missions to resupply and plan the next operation.

9.4 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A stealth collection for players who enjoy designing an approach and then adapting to mission constraints.

Open-ended assignments and disguises make the method of reaching a target an important part of the appeal, particularly if you enjoy planning your own solution. Escalations and Freelancer offer different reasons to reconsider that plan: changing restrictions in one, and preparation between operations in the other.

Strengths

  • Disguises and open-ended locations can make planning an approach as engaging as completing the objective.
  • Escalations and Freelancer give constraint-solving and between-mission preparation distinct roles.

Weaknesses

  • Escalations' imposed restrictions may be less attractive if unrestricted experimentation is your main interest.

Who it is for: Players who like stealth, self-directed mission planning and adapting their approach when rules change.

Play notes: Treat Escalations as a different kind of challenge from an open-ended assignment: staged restrictions can determine which approaches remain suitable.

Freelancer's return to the safehouse creates a preparation break between operations, whereas Escalations focus attention on adapting to successive constraints.

Disguises within open-ended assignments may reward players who enjoy constructing a route to an objective rather than following a single prescribed approach.

A fashion show and skyscraper settings may support the feeling of entering different social spaces while carrying out covert work.

The documented Frame Rate option is a setting to consider when configuring the Switch 2 version; its addition alone does not establish measured performance.
