About this game

EVERSPACE 2 puts you in the cockpit of a single-player spaceship shooter. Dodge, roll and boost through fights, explore space and planetary locations, and collect equipment for your ship. Building a loadout involves combining weapons, modules, devices and perks around the task at hand; crafting upgrades is another part of developing that ship. Galactic Edition includes the base game and its Titans and Wrath of the Ancients additions. Titans supplies large encounters you can repeat for new weapon and equipment sets. Wrath of the Ancients adds a post-game storyline and new star systems, extending exploration after the main adventure. The included Supporter Pack provides cosmetic options for changing your ship's appearance.

8.0 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

For pilots who want equipment planning alongside spaceship action.

Combining ship components gives combat a planning layer that should appeal to players who enjoy tinkering as much as piloting. Titans' repeatable encounters and Wrath's post-game narrative provide different incentives for continuing the adventure.

Strengths

  • Combining weapons, devices and perks offers a basis for experimenting with how a ship tackles a particular objective.
  • Repeatable equipment challenges and a separate post-game story should serve different preferences for continued play.

Weaknesses

  • Players interested only in dogfights may find crafting and loadout decisions less appealing than the flying itself.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy action RPG equipment choices, spaceship maneuvers and exploring science-fiction locations.

Play notes: Wrath of the Ancients is structured around a post-game storyline, so its narrative continuation belongs after the base adventure.

For players using Switch 2 patch 1.0.2, the documented ZL-label corrections should make affected menu prompts easier to match to the controller.
