About this game

As a luchador fighting an undead army, you move through towns, forests and volcanoes, combining close-range combat with platforming. Learning an attack also changes how you explore: the Rooster Uppercut, for example, reaches higher ledges as well as serving in a fight. New traversal abilities open areas you could not previously reach. Switching between the worlds of the living and the dead is another part of finding a way through the terrain. Intenso provides a temporary boost to attacks and movement, adding a burst of power to your toolkit. The Nintendo Switch edition also supports local partners dropping into or leaving the adventure, so the same exploration and combat can be shared on one system.

8.5 / 10Nintendo Switch

A strong design match for players who want combat skills and exploration to develop together.

Moves that serve both fighting and traversal can make learning an attack feel useful beyond its immediate damage. World switching adds another spatial decision, so the design may appeal most to players who enjoy thinking about routes while practicing action mechanics.

Strengths

  • Dual-purpose moves connect combat learning directly to access to new areas.
  • Switching worlds gives traversal a decision beyond choosing a jump direction.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy ability-gated exploration, close-range action and applying newly learned moves to both enemies and terrain.

Play notes: Local co-op requires additional controllers; a single Joy-Con is not supported.
