About this game

You are a detective who has lost his memories, trying to investigate a murder by speaking with people and examining suspicious places and objects. Skills do more than determine what you are good at: they speak as inner personalities and affect the conversation options available to you. Actions are resolved through dice-based checks, with relevant skill values influencing the odds. When an approach fails, a task can offer another skill-based solution. Clothing and tools can also improve your chances, making preparation part of deciding how to proceed. Alongside the murder investigation are tasks involving your own memories and residents' problems. The Final Cut adds political vision quests and full English voice-over to this dialogue-driven role-playing structure.

9.3 / 10Nintendo Switch

A strong conceptual fit for players who want character-building to influence conversations and investigation.

Skills that speak and alter dialogue can make developing a detective part of interpreting the case. Alternative task solutions offer room to reconsider an approach, although dice checks may frustrate players who want a chosen answer to determine success by itself.

Strengths

  • Personified skills can turn character-building into a source of perspectives during investigation.
  • Alternative skill routes and equipment adjustments can give a failed approach a useful follow-up decision.

Weaknesses

  • Dice-based outcomes may feel indirect to players who prefer success to depend only on selecting the right response.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy dialogue-led investigations and shaping a character through skills and choices.

Play notes: The full voice-over is in English.
