About this game

Denshattack! puts train movement at the center of a trick-scoring adventure. Perform ollies, kickflips and grinds, then land your train as you pursue higher scores. Broken rails make jumping part of navigation, while sliding onto neighboring tracks and dropping straight down with an aerial stomp provide distinct ways to handle the course. The journey stretches from rural Kyushu through Osaka and Tokyo to Hokkaido's snowfields. Along the way, confront rival trains, build a reputation among gangs and rebels, and turn some opponents into allies. Boss encounters call on actions learned during the trip, bringing those movement skills into confrontations beyond the pursuit of points.

8.5 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A promising fit for players who want navigation itself to become a trick challenge.

Scoring tricks while crossing broken rails could make route execution as absorbing as the score chase. Boss encounters may give those learned actions a different purpose, appealing to players who enjoy applying movement skills in changing situations.

Strengths

  • Sliding and aerial stomps could make choosing a route more expressive than simply following the rails.
  • The journey across contrasting Japanese regions may give the trick challenges a strong sense of place.

Weaknesses

  • The need to jump broken rails may be a poor match for players seeking a leisurely train journey.

Who it is for: Players attracted to arcade score chasing, airborne movement and stylized journeys through Japan.
