About this game
Braid makes time manipulation part of solving platforming puzzles. You run and jump through its worlds, use their unusual time rules, and collect pieces that assemble into jigsaw puzzles. A difficult piece does not have to stop the journey: you can move on and revisit its puzzle later. The Anniversary Edition retains the original challenges within repainted environments featuring animated brushstrokes. It also offers a separate world for exploring developer commentary, with new puzzles and redesigned versions of familiar ones. This Nintendo Switch 2 Edition adds further commentary and supports handheld, tabletop and TV play, bringing the puzzle journey and its behind-the-scenes material into the same package.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Best approached as an invitation to experiment with rules and examine puzzle design.
Time manipulation makes testing an idea part of the appeal, while revisiting puzzles allows room to reconsider an approach. Commentary and reworked challenges give design-curious players another reason to explore.
Strengths
- Leaving a puzzle and returning later can help players manage their own problem-solving rhythm.
- Commentary alongside new and revised puzzles offers a route into the design process.
Weaknesses
- Players who remember the original solutions may find less discovery in the retained challenges.
Who it is for: Patient puzzle solvers and players interested in how a game's challenges were constructed.
