About this game

As a railway company president, you lay tracks, build stations and develop the surrounding town. Tourism gives those routes a purpose: connect attractions to the people who want to visit them, using railways, buses and ferries. Subsidiaries add company management to the transport planning, while scenario towns present different problems to resolve. Character advisers explain systems and offer planning advice. For building without financial constraints, Construction mode lets you reshape terrain and place buildings freely. This edition also supports Joy-Con 2 and USB mouse operation, and Nintendo Switch 2 Mode allows more vehicles and vehicle plans. Saves begun in that mode require Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, and the newly added scenarios are Japanese-only.

7.9 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A promising fit for planners who want tourist access to shape their railway towns.

Linking attractions to transport gives route design a concrete purpose, which may appeal to players who enjoy watching a network support urban growth. Scenario problems and unrestricted Construction mode offer different reasons to build, depending on whether you prefer solving a town's needs or pursuing your own layout.

Strengths

  • Rail, bus and ferry connections could make a tourist route feel like a coordinated transport project.
  • Construction mode should suit players who want to experiment with terrain and buildings without balancing funds.

Weaknesses

  • The subsidiary-management layer may be a distraction if your main interest is laying railway routes.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy transport planning, station-centered development and choosing between scenario objectives and free construction.

Play notes: Newly added scenarios are Japanese-only. Scenario and Construction saves started in Nintendo Switch 2 Mode require Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
