About this game

WWF Attitude is a Nintendo 64 fighting game centered on move inputs, offense-defense reads, and character matchups. Short bouts use character differences and rising difficulty for variety, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hit feedback, and readable arenas create match tension, while 3D scenes, fog, textures, and cartridge audio need to preserve target readability within limited memory and television output. The genre-specific limitation is that button or motion mapping, move recognition, networking, and cpu behavior can affect balance. Platform conditions also include camera control, stick precision, Controller Pak saves, Rumble Pak support, Expansion Pak requirements, and four-player setup can affect original-hardware use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

7.8 / 10Nintendo 64

A rich N64 wrestling package with familiar combat friction.

The Nintendo 64 edition of WWF Attitude improves wrestling-show atmosphere more than it reinvents the ring. Full entrances, digitized themes and wrestler voices are unusually rich for a cartridge, and the visuals improve on the earlier game. A direct N64 review describes extra reversals and a generous selection of career events, match stipulations and wrestler-creation options. Underneath, however, much of the War Zone grapple system remains. Crowded multiplayer matches are especially hard to read because a button cycles the intended opponent without a clear indication; blocks and tags can go to the wrong target. The review observes minor Royal Rumble slowdown and occasional clipping, while commentary trails the action and remains generic despite the impressive speech storage. This is a substantial period wrestling package for fans who value the roster, entrances and creation suite, not a genuinely new combat system. The score is specific to the N64 version and does not borrow PlayStation technical performance.

Strengths

  • Entrances, career breadth and wrestler creation.

Weaknesses

  • Unclear targeting, lagging commentary and minor slowdown.

Who it is for: Fans of period WWF presentation and creation.

Play notes: Nintendo 64 cartridge only.
