About this game
Worms Armageddon is a Nintendo 64 shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, aiming and shooting, and positioning and evasion. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while 3D scenes, fog, textures, and cartridge audio need to preserve target readability within limited memory and television output. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and multiplayer service conditions can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include camera control, stick precision, Controller Pak saves, Rumble Pak support, Expansion Pak requirements, and four-player setup can affect original-hardware use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.
Collected in series
Worms turns tiny armed teams into a battlefield comedy. Most entries give you a turn to move, judge a shot and choose a weapon, with explosions steadily tearing up the landscape. A carefully planned attack can be overturned by an awkward landing or an absurd weapon, making the next turn worth watching too.

Nintendo 64AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Lively tactical comedy that shines with friends more than inconsistent AI.
A turn is more than aiming a grenade: terrain, the time limit and drowning hazards all shape your choices. Ropes, drills and strange explosives create flexible solutions, with a brilliant hit and a comic disaster often separated by a small aiming error. Team-based turns and especially powerful weapons can tilt the contest, so its balance is not perfectly tidy. The strongest setting is a group of friends passing one controller between up to four players, with comparatively short waits for computer thinking. Solo opponents are less coherent, alternating extraordinary shots with self-inflicted damage and favoring a narrow arsenal. Expressive cartoon details and lively effects sell the joke, although some impacts are unclear and the high-pitched voices can wear thin.
Strengths
- Flexible terrain and weapon tactics
- Four-player shared-controller gatherings
- Expressive cartoon details and effects
Weaknesses
- Overpowering weapons
- Inconsistent, narrow AI behavior
- Unclear impacts and tiring voices
Who it is for: Groups who enjoy taking turns, tactical mischief and unpredictable outcomes.
Play notes: Up to four players pass one controller; computer accuracy and self-damaging errors coexist.
