About this game
Unicorn Overlord links world exploration with army building. You choose routes and stages as you liberate towns, assembling units from allies with different classes and backgrounds. Before sending them into combat, you configure tactics that determine when their skills activate. Once opposing units meet, those encounters proceed automatically according to the preparation you made. On the larger battlefield, both sides advance in real time and compete for command posts. You direct where units go while protecting your own base and completing each stage's objective within its time limit. Animated battles show the resulting clashes, and selectable difficulty settings let you choose the level of challenge.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A strong conceptual match for players who enjoy designing a plan and watching its rules play out.
Preset skill conditions make unit preparation central to the outcome of encounters. Real-time movement and timed objectives add another layer of command, so the appeal lies in connecting an army's internal setup with its position on the field.
Strengths
- Class combinations and skill conditions provide interlocking decisions when building units.
- Route selection gives players some control over how they approach the campaign.
Weaknesses
- Automatic encounters may feel too indirect if choosing every individual action is your main attraction to tactical games.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy arranging complementary roles and refining conditional combat plans.
