About this game

Tools Up! turns apartment renovation into a sequence of shared jobs. Follow the blueprint, paint walls, strip wallpaper, collect deliveries and clean up. Completed tasks unlock more challenging missions, and the Switch game supports solo play or a crew on one system. The usual race against the clock also has an alternative: an updated game offers No Time Limit Mode when starting a new campaign. In that mode, finishing the tasks and cleaning up ends the level. Garden Party is separate DLC.

6.8 / 10Nintendo Switch

For groups who enjoy dividing practical jobs and talking through a shared plan.

Painting, deliveries and cleanup can make cooperation about deciding who handles the next job. The untimed campaign option may better suit groups who want to practise that coordination without a countdown setting their pace.

Strengths

  • A shared set of renovation jobs gives a local group concrete roles to discuss.
  • The untimed campaign option can accommodate players who prefer completing jobs at their own pace.

Weaknesses

  • Players seeking freeform interior design may find blueprint-based tasks too prescriptive.

Who it is for: Local groups interested in coordinating tasks rather than inventing their own decorating brief.

Play notes: Multiplayer is local rather than standalone online play. Garden Party content is separate DLC.

For a communicative group, following the same plan while splitting painting, deliveries and cleanup can turn ordinary tasks into a shared coordination problem.
