About this game
The Exit 8 makes observation the basis of escape. You walk an underground passage, examine your surroundings and decide whether to reverse direction. Finding an anomaly means turning back immediately; finding none means continuing onward toward Exit 8. This short walking simulator draws on Japanese underground passages, liminal spaces and the Backrooms. Its recurring activity is to inspect the passage and apply the same directional rule to what you find. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition includes additional anomalies that were also added to the Nintendo Switch version.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A focused choice for players who enjoy questioning small changes in a familiar place.
The turn-back rule can make an ordinary walk into a sequence of uncertain judgments. Its appeal depends on enjoying close observation and repeated comparison rather than needing a continually changing location.
Strengths
- A concrete directional decision gives each suspected anomaly an immediate consequence.
Weaknesses
- Repeated corridor inspection may feel restrictive if discovering new locations is your main pleasure in exploration.
Who it is for: Players interested in anomaly spotting, liminal settings and a compact observation-led premise.
Play notes: The additional anomalies are also present in the updated Nintendo Switch version.
