About this game

Super Mega Baseball 4 puts you in control of batting, pitching and baserunning while also letting you shape the team behind those plays. Shuffle Draft brings former professional legends and fictional Super Mega All-Stars into the same roster-building process, making player selection part of your preparation for a game. Custom teams let you edit logos and uniforms, adjust player abilities and traits, and set a default batting order. You can take those teams into custom-league exhibition matches, seasons and Franchise play, among other supported modes. Separate difficulty settings for different baseball actions let you adjust the demands of batting and pitching independently as you learn.

8.2 / 10Nintendo Switch

For baseball players who enjoy designing a roster as well as executing the plays.

Drafting and custom player traits can give team selection a personal direction beyond individual at-bats. Separate difficulty controls should help players work on pitching and batting without demanding the same proficiency in both.

Strengths

  • Roster and lineup editing provide room to pursue a particular team concept.
  • Independent difficulty settings can accommodate uneven familiarity with baseball actions.

Weaknesses

  • Players wanting to use a fully customized roster in Pennant Race face its standard-team restriction.

Who it is for: Baseball fans interested in roster experiments, team identity and adjustable on-field demands.

Play notes: Cross-platform competition is specified for Pennant Race and Online Leagues; it should not be assumed to cover every multiplayer mode.
