About this game

NBA 2K19 puts you in charge of basketball possessions: move the ball, choose a shot, or call a screen and decide how the screener moves afterward. Defensive play includes contesting shots, blocking attempts and collecting rebounds. With the Joy-Con grip control scheme, Pro Stick actions add shooting and dribbling choices. A single horizontal Joy-Con uses a reduced scheme without those Pro Stick controls, so controller choice changes the available inputs.

7.8 / 10Nintendo Switch

A fit for players interested in possession-by-possession basketball decisions.

Screen choices and Pro Stick actions invite deliberate offensive play. Getting more from those options requires willingness to learn the fuller controller scheme.

Strengths

  • Screen direction and roll-or-fade choices create concrete offensive decisions.

Weaknesses

  • Single-Joy-Con play limits access to the documented Pro Stick repertoire.

Who it is for: Basketball fans who enjoy organising attacks and learning varied inputs.

Play notes: Current availability of NBA 2K19's Switch online modes and server-dependent saves remains unverified.
