About this game

Guided by PUCK, Swordsman No. 8 explores a maze-like alien world through combat, environmental puzzles and newly acquired abilities. Defeating and consuming creatures feeds your growth, while new powers extend your reach into unexplored areas. Caves, jungles and wastelands form the surroundings for this journey. Different forms change how you approach an obstacle: Mini-PUCK follows special lanes, while GAIA offers powerful attacks that require energy. This Nintendo Switch 2 Edition retains the Switch version’s game content. With update 1.1.0, Explorer Mode reduces combat and exploration difficulty, and modes can be changed from save selection or the Miku Sol menu.

7.1 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

Suited to players who want exploration tied to new abilities and decisions about when to spend power.

Consumption links combat to growth, while special-lane traversal gives movement a different role from GAIA’s energy-dependent attacks. These systems suggest an adventure for players who enjoy changing approach as their options expand.

Strengths

  • Distinct traversal and combat forms can make newly encountered obstacles feel like different problems to solve.
  • New abilities give exploration a concrete sense of expanding reach.

Weaknesses

  • GAIA’s energy requirement may frustrate players who want its powerful attacks available without resource management.

Who it is for: Players interested in ability-led exploration and choosing when a stronger combat form is worth its energy cost.

Play notes: Explorer Mode and the described difficulty-switching options require update 1.1.0.
