About this game
Constance is a hand-drawn action adventure built around an artist and her brush. You turn into paint to enter the ground and walls, then use newly unlocked techniques to fight, cross platforming obstacles and solve puzzles. The world is interconnected and nonlinear, with environments tied to the protagonist's mental state and history. Brush techniques carry a cost: using them corrupts your paint, and reaching full corruption brings negative effects. Discovered inspirations become sketches that customize your abilities, while collected materials strengthen those sketches. Failure also brings a choice. After death, you can continue at a price or return to a safe point, leaving you to decide whether to persist with the current challenge or change direction.

AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
For explorers who enjoy movement experimentation tempered by a resource-like constraint.
Paint transformation and brush techniques connect traversal with combat, suggesting an adventure built around learning how to use new actions. Corruption and the choice after death add reasons to reconsider how hard to push a route.
Strengths
- Brush abilities serve several kinds of obstacle, giving new techniques potential value beyond combat.
- Sketch customization offers a way to shape abilities around a preferred approach.
Weaknesses
- Players who want to use techniques without restraint may find corruption management an unwelcome interruption.
Who it is for: Players interested in interconnected exploration, platforming and deciding when to persist or retreat.
Play notes: The Hong Kong listing states that save data is not compatible between this Switch 2 product and the separate Switch product.
