About this game

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 is a Wii U action game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, combat encounters, and puzzle, maze, or device solving. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hits, camera behavior, and readable hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while HD television output and the GamePad screen need to divide maps, status, touch input, and primary focus clearly. The genre-specific limitation is that camera behavior, collision rules, input mapping, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. Platform conditions also include GamePad battery life and range, shifts between two screens, loading, performance, and retired online and Miiverse services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

6.4 / 10Wii U

A cheerful Pac-Man platformer whose good transformations cannot hide a very familiar sequel.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 keeps its Wii U adventure approachable. Chaining ghost chomps feels nimble, and magnetic, ice and rubber forms occasionally turn ordinary platforming into playful movement puzzles. A few gravity-based routes stand out, while Spiral and Cylindria's shooting interludes briefly interrupt the usual rhythm. Colourful worlds, upbeat music and broad cartoon acting suit younger fans of the show. This is nevertheless an incremental sequel. Many abilities and level patterns return from the first game, the main route is easy, and collectables mostly support score medals rather than a fresh exploration system. Multiplayer and minigames are absent. Two Wii U play accounts also mention camera or collision frustrations; one records a fall through the floor that forced a restart. Those faults are intermittent, not evidence that every stage is broken, but they matter when a platform jump demands precision. For a child seeking a forgiving, bright mascot adventure, the package still works. Players hoping for a substantial mechanical step forward or shared play will find far less reason to return.

Strengths

  • Fun chomp chains and selected transformation puzzles
  • Colourful cartoon presentation and lively music
  • Short character-shooting detours

Weaknesses

  • Reuses many earlier abilities and structures
  • Low challenge and no returning multiplayer minigames
  • Occasional Wii U camera and collision friction

Who it is for: Younger cartoon fans and families seeking an easy 3D platformer.

Play notes: This judgment covers the Wii U version; occasional viewing-angle and collision problems may frustrate precise jumps.

New-character interludes and medals add variety, but easy, short stages and missing side modes make this a modest sequel.
