About this game
Road to Boruto brings the Fourth Great Ninja War and the story of Boruto: Naruto the Movie into a ninja fighting game. In team battles, Leader Change lets you take control of another fighter and connect attacks across characters. Substitution provides a way out of enemy attacks, but its gauge limits how often you can rely on it. Alongside the story content, Free Battle offers versus, survival, tournament and league formats. Naruto's giant chakra transformation is one example of how character abilities shape the presentation of combat. The Nintendo Switch edition also includes the NEXT GENERATIONS update pack and supports two players on one system.
Collected in series
Naruto’s game adaptations bring the manga and anime’s ninja world into fighting, story adventures and team combat. Different branches put the emphasis on spectacular jutsu, recognizable rivalries or coordinating with other players across an arena.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Best approached for character-driven team fights and the Naruto-to-Boruto story connection.
Leader Change and limited substitution escapes suggest a battle system where timing matters on both offense and defense. The story adaptations and separate Free Battle formats give fans different reasons to return to their chosen characters.
Strengths
- Character switching offers room to build attacks around a team rather than one fighter.
- Story content and Free Battle formats serve both narrative interest and repeat match play.
Who it is for: Naruto fans who want to experiment with team combinations as well as revisit the war and Boruto stories.
Play notes: The story selection reaches the Fourth Great Ninja War and the Boruto film; it is unsuitable for avoiding spoilers to those arcs.
