About this game
Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on location exploration, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

An appealing roster and spectacle, held back by recycled and passive storytelling.
Connections is most enjoyable when assembling a three-ninja team and combining assists, switches and spectacular techniques. Simple controls ease the initial learning curve, and the large roster gives fans many combinations to explore. The amount of content does not always translate into fresh interaction, however. History relies heavily on still images and returning fights, while the original story mostly alternates battles with cutscenes instead of exploration. Special attacks remain attractive, but some environments and older character assets look plain. PS5 testing reports fluid 60fps action, although dated online networking remains a limitation. This is a better fit for Naruto fans gathering favorite characters in one place than for returning players expecting a substantial reinvention of the previous games.
Strengths
- Many teams and technique combinations
- Techniques capture the anime's spectacle
Weaknesses
- Returning fights and still-image recaps dominate
- Original story interaction is limited
- Dated online networking
Who it is for: Naruto fans seeking a broad character collection
Play notes: Base content and additional characters are separate; returning players should expect repetition.
