About this game

Metal Storm sends the M-308 Gunner into a battle station. The robot moves, jumps and shoots, but gravity reversal changes which surface it falls toward. Reverse the pull to rise toward the ceiling, then restore normal gravity when needed. The path includes barriers that permit passage from particular directions, making the approach as important as the jump. Combining a jump with a gravity change provides further ways to reach ledges. Stage passwords retain progress and equipment conditions between sessions.

8.9 / 10Famicom / NES

For players who enjoy rethinking a room’s floor and ceiling.

Gravity reversal turns direction into a traversal tool. It suits players willing to plan an approach to barriers instead of treating every jump as the same problem.

Strengths

  • The main movement mechanic changes the meaning of the surrounding surfaces.

Who it is for: Players who like spatial platforming and deliberate changes of direction.
