About this game

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens combines the film’s story with a brick-based action adventure. Players follow Rey, Finn, BB-8 and other characters across different locations, revisiting the conflict with the First Order through the performances of LEGO figures. Stages mix combat, exploration and simple puzzles. Breaking objects, assembling bricks again and using character abilities provide ways forward. Humorous storytelling and collectable items accompany the journey, turning familiar cinematic events into an adventure that the player can take part in.

LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens

Varied activities and Star Wars humor suit portable collecting, with limited challenge beneath the charm.

This Vita adventure breaks a familiar film journey into approachable episodes of construction puzzles, combat, vehicles and cover shooting. Multi-builds give the same pieces different purposes, while hubs allow a break from following the story. Bonus chapters and routes opened by character abilities offer reasons to return. Much of the collection, however, means revisiting familiar stages, and basic enemies and mechanisms rarely demand elaborate decisions. Desert, snow and flight scenes retain a recognizable identity on the handheld, although short draw distances reduce the completeness of some views. Fixed level cameras and loose aiming occasionally make precise actions awkward. Players seeking portable Star Wars jokes and relaxed collecting have plenty to enjoy; those looking for exacting combat or sustained puzzle complexity may find the adventure too gentle.

Strengths

  • Flight, shooting and construction vary the pace
  • Bonus chapters and ability routes encourage revisits

Weaknesses

  • Basic combat and puzzles are shallow
  • Camera and aiming can hinder precision

Who it is for: Handheld players who enjoy Star Wars humor and relaxed collecting.

Play notes: Independent judgment from official material and Kresnik’s 2018 Vita test, not our own playtest. Model, patch and hours are unspecified. Smoothness is a dated qualitative observation, not a current frame-rate guarantee or evidence for other platforms.

Hubs, bonus chapters and routes opened by character abilities extend collection beyond the story. Replaying stages supplies much of the longevity, making its value depend on enthusiasm for collecting.

Multi-builds give one pile several uses, while flight and cover shooting interrupt the familiar construction puzzles. Variety improves pacing without making basic combat or puzzles especially demanding.

Recognizable film locations, exaggerated LEGO jokes and orchestral music work together. Humor softens the drama and gives this return to Star Wars an approachable tone.

The 2018 Vita test reports good vehicle controls and generally smooth play, alongside awkward fixed cameras and floaty aiming. Portable usability is supported, with room to improve precision.
