About this game
Have a Nice Death casts you as an exhausted boss trying to rein in the employees of Death Inc. You explore procedurally generated departments and fight with a scythe, weapons and spells. Finding and upgrading those tools lets you assemble different combat combinations as you work through the company's enemies and bosses. Failure sends you into another run, while post-run evaluations unlock items and upgrades that contribute to later attempts. Choosing more power also involves tradeoffs: a Curse upgrade can provoke stronger enemies or higher prices for useful supplies. Office gossip and departmental organization carry the workplace theme through the adventure, turning Death's effort to restore order into a recurring cycle of combat, improvement and another attempt.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Best approached by players who enjoy rebuilding a combat plan and accepting power with consequences.
Weapon and spell combinations offer a basis for experimentation, while Curse consequences make an upgrade's value depend on more than its immediate benefit. Repeated attempts and persistent unlocks may suit players who enjoy learning through another run.
Strengths
- Curse consequences give power choices a meaningful cost to consider.
- Run-end unlocks provide a progression thread between attempts at the generated departments.
Weaknesses
- Starting another run after failure may be frustrating if you prefer continuous progress through a fixed adventure.
Who it is for: Action players who like testing combat combinations, retrying encounters and weighing the disadvantages of upgrades.
Play notes: A Curse upgrade can also strengthen enemies or increase supply prices; more power does not necessarily make the rest of a run easier.
