About this game
Grand Knights History is a PSP role-playing game centered on area and route exploration, story, case, or mission progress, and area exploration. Story beats, exploration, and progression resources support a longer campaign, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Characters, world building, environments, and music carry most of the atmosphere, while the portable widescreen, UMD streaming, compressed audio, and handheld-scale interface need to preserve targets, text, and action readability. The genre-specific limitation is that dense text, menu layers, repeated battles, loading, or language dependence can slow progress. Platform conditions also include single-nub camera control, UMD loading and noise, Memory Stick saves, battery life, regional language, ad hoc requirements, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Interesting offline team building after the loss of its live war.
Shared action points make a four-person party think collectively about every attack. Defeating weaker enemies can fund stronger follow-up actions, while class, equipment and appearance choices give recruitment a satisfying experimental side. Painted scenery, animated sketch-like portraits and the storybook introduction provide a distinctive fantasy atmosphere. The important limitation is structural: much of the training loop was designed to prepare teams for a live war between nations, and Marvelous confirms that network service has ended. Retained offline war cannot reproduce players collectively changing the battlefield. Thin storytelling and replaceable recruits also limit emotional attachment. PSP recruitment adjustment and screenshot capture remain practical features. It is worth considering as an offline tactical training game, not as the persistent online competition it once offered.
Strengths
- Meaningful shared-AP combat
- Extensive party customization
- Distinctive painterly art
- Useful screenshot capture
Weaknesses
- Live nation war discontinued
- Thin storytelling
- Weak attachment to replaceable recruits
- Reduced long-term training purpose
Who it is for: Players who enjoy offline tactical team building
Play notes: Officially ended network service on 31 October 2013; offline War Mode is retained and is the scoring scope.
