About this game
Exit is a PSP action game centered on platform movement and landing judgment, puzzle, maze, or device solving, and area and route exploration. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hits, camera behavior, and readable hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while the portable widescreen, UMD streaming, compressed audio, and handheld-scale interface need to preserve targets, text, and action readability. The genre-specific limitation is that camera behavior, collision rules, input mapping, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. Platform conditions also include single-nub camera control, UMD loading and noise, Memory Stick saves, battery life, regional language, ad hoc requirements, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Stylish rescue puzzles with some timer friction.
Exit places professional escapologist Mr. ESC in burning, damaged and otherwise dangerous buildings to guide people out. Planning his own climbs, crawls and leaps is only part of the puzzle: children and slower adults must also pass obstacles, so evacuees are more than icons following a route. Comic-book framing and carefully animated characters give plain rooms a distinctive, energetic personality. The sequence of compact rescue scenarios adds new hazards and companion arrangements despite a deliberately simple premise. A timer creates satisfying pressure when a plan works, but it also magnifies mistakes in issuing commands or managing followers, sometimes making a puzzle feel like repeated trial and error. A direct PSP review supports the handheld’s short-session appeal; this judgment does not import touch controls from the later DS adaptation. The catalog’s 2005 year and a 2006 English-language review should not be mistaken for a single worldwide launch date. Players who enjoy route planning under pressure are the best audience.
Strengths
- Companion puzzles, comic style and compact stages.
Weaknesses
- Timer pressure and companion-command friction.
Who it is for: Handheld players who enjoy timed route puzzles.
Play notes: PSP original; regional release years remain distinct.
