About this game

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on area and route exploration, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Collected in series

Dragon Ball games turn the manga and anime’s battles into fighting games, character-building adventures and action RPGs. You might assemble a tag team, create your own fighter or revisit Goku’s journey between explosive encounters.

A custom-fighter fantasy built on substantial grinding

Custom races, attributes, learned techniques and equipment create a personal Dragon Ball fighter with worthwhile growth choices. The underlying arena-combat rules are comparatively simple, however, and prolonged fighting exposes their repetition. Time patrols and Parallel Quests give familiar battles a new participatory angle, with plentiful rewards supporting long-term development. Repeated drop farming and slow story passages mean that scale does not consistently translate into variety. Signature attacks and airborne exchanges still communicate Dragon Ball’s exaggerated power, supporting the fantasy of joining its cast. Static scenes and awkward delivery weaken the dramatic possibilities of the surrounding time-travel story. Much faster loading in the native PS5 version reduces the waiting attached to repeated missions. It does not remove finicky combat or aged staging, so the upgrade improves convenience more than it transforms the underlying experience.

Strengths

  • Character customisation and technique collecting

Weaknesses

  • Repetitive combat and slow storytelling

Who it is for: Players who want to develop their own Dragon Ball character
