About this game

As the DOOM Marine, fight the demons overrunning a UAC research facility on Mars and carry the battle into Hell. Move while firing, bring enemies within reach of brutal melee attacks, and develop your arsenal through upgrades. Health does not regenerate when you stop and wait, so retreating alone will not restore it. Weapon modifications change your combat options: the shotgun, for example, can use burst fire or explosive shots. Choosing a weapon setup and deciding when to close the distance are recurring parts of combat. Alongside the single-player campaign, Arcade Mode reshapes campaign action around earning points, giving the same battles a different objective.

9.0 / 10Nintendo Switch

A likely fit for players who enjoy combining movement, weapon choices and close-range aggression.

The combination of shooting, movement and melee suggests a combat loop built around active positioning. Weapon modifications offer room to vary your approach, while Arcade Mode may appeal to players who prefer a scoring objective to campaign progression.

Strengths

  • Burst-fire and explosive-shot modifications can give shotgun users a concrete choice in how to tackle an encounter.

Weaknesses

  • Players accustomed to recovering health by waiting may find the lack of regeneration less forgiving.

Who it is for: Players interested in movement-focused shooting and experimenting with weapon setups.

Play notes: Combat includes graphic crushing and dismemberment of demons.
