About this game
Quake II puts you on the Strogg homeworld as a survivor of humanity's failed assault. Fight through fortified installations with an arsenal of bullet-firing weapons, rockets and shells. Progress takes you through a hub-based world, and the compass can point toward your next objective when you need direction. This enhanced release brings the original campaign together with The Reckoning, Ground Zero, MachineGames' Call of the Machine and Quake II 64. Sonic Mayhem's original heavy rock soundtrack accompanies the fighting. On Nintendo Switch, motion aiming works alongside the control stick, and the single-player campaign can be played offline.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A promising fit for players who want weapon-driven combat with routes to untangle between objectives.
The hub structure can make navigation part of the combat challenge, while the compass offers direction when tracing routes stops being enjoyable. The included campaigns should particularly interest players who want to explore different bodies of level design within the same shooting framework.
Strengths
- The compass can support players who enjoy exploring but occasionally want a clear next destination.
- The original mission packs, Call of the Machine and Quake II 64 offer distinct campaign selections to investigate.
Who it is for: Players drawn to military science-fiction shooting, a varied ammunition-based arsenal and exploration between objectives.
