About this game

Mega Man X Legacy Collection brings together Mega Man X, X2, X3 and X4. Guide X through their action stages, combine dashes with wall jumps, and acquire weapons by defeating Maverick bosses. Those weapons expand the tools available as you work through each adventure. The collection also includes X Challenge, where two bosses attack together and you can bring three boss weapons into battle. Alongside the games, a museum presents illustrations, production art, music and merchandise. Rookie Hunter mode offers a lower-difficulty option, while visual filters let you change how the included games are displayed.

8.5 / 10Nintendo Switch

A focused collection for players who enjoy movement practice and experimenting with boss weapons.

Dashes, wall jumps and acquired weapons give players several tools to combine, making the collection a plausible fit for those who enjoy refining their approach. X Challenge changes the problem from facing a boss alone to managing a pair, with weapon selection adding preparation before the fight.

Strengths

  • Movement abilities and acquired weapons can support experimentation beyond simply attacking from one position.
  • Paired bosses give familiar enemies a different tactical context.

Weaknesses

  • X Challenge may be less appealing if you prefer learning one enemy pattern at a time.

Who it is for: Players interested in action-platforming practice, boss-weapon choices and the artwork and music surrounding the early X games.

Play notes: This collection's included adventures are Mega Man X through Mega Man X4.
