About this game
Dante's clash with his twin brother Vergil frames an action game set before the original Devil May Cry. Across its missions, you fight demons with melee weapons and firearms, using styles that emphasize movement, swordplay, shooting or defense. The main styles also develop as part of progression. This Switch edition adds Free Style mode, putting style changes on directional inputs and allowing weapon changes without stopping play. You can adjust your tools during an encounter instead of treating the style choice only as preparation. Special Edition also includes playable Vergil. For a separate battle-focused activity, Bloody Palace asks you to defeat enemies and climb through higher floors, with local two-player cooperation pairing Dante and Vergil.
Collected in series
Devil May Cry is Capcom’s demon-hunting action series, where sword strikes, gunfire and evasive moves flow into elaborate combos. Its flamboyant heroes bring different fighting styles, and much of the pleasure comes from making each battle look as good as it feels.

For action players who want choosing their next technique to be part of the fight.
Free Style puts changes of weapon and combat approach inside an encounter, giving experimentation a practical role. The mission campaign and floor-based Bloody Palace offer distinct structures for players who prefer story progression or concentrated combat.
Strengths
- Different style functions and in-play weapon switching provide room to assemble a personal combat approach.
- Bloody Palace's local pairing gives two players a shared enemy-clearing objective.
Who it is for: Players interested in learning several combat functions and making deliberate choices between movement, attack and defense.
Play notes: The cooperative feature described here is Bloody Palace: Dante and Vergil fight through its enemy floors together.
