About this game

NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection brings together NINJA GAIDEN Sigma, NINJA GAIDEN Sigma 2 and NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge. In Sigma, guard incoming attacks and look for an opening to strike; improving your weapons opens up more powerful combinations. Razor’s Edge develops its attack repertoire through moves learned with Ninja Skills. Each included game retains its own structure and character availability. Sigma has missions separate from its story, while Sigma 2 offers selectable difficulty levels. Previously released downloadable costumes are included, but playable characters vary by game and mode. Sigma 2’s Tag Missions are offline challenges with an AI partner, and Razor’s Edge’s Ninja Trials do not include online cooperative play.

8.0 / 10Nintendo Switch

A collection for players who enjoy turning defensive openings into a broader repertoire of attacks.

Sigma’s guarding and weapon growth suggest an experience built around learning when to commit to an attack. Separate missions and Razor’s Edge’s skill unlocks offer different ways to pursue that interest, although the collection’s cooperative-looking challenges have specific solo restrictions.

Strengths

  • Guarding for an opening and unlocking weapon combinations can make improvement feel connected to both judgment and a growing move set.
  • Separate missions and selectable difficulty levels offer useful alternatives for players who like revisiting combat under different conditions.

Weaknesses

  • Players seeking cooperative combat may find the solo Tag Missions and lack of online Ninja Trials restrictive.

Who it is for: Players interested in studying attack opportunities, expanding combat options and exploring differences between related action games.

Play notes: Playable characters depend on the included game and mode; their inclusion does not make every character available throughout every story.

The relationship between guarding and finding an opening should appeal most when choosing the moment to attack matters as much to you as learning combinations.

Sigma provides both camera control and recentering on Switch, making camera positioning another tool to learn alongside its defensive actions.
