About this game
Daisenryaku - Daitoua Kouboushi - Tora Tora Tora Ware Kishuu ni Seikou Seri is a PSP strategy game centered on turn-based tactical decisions, battlefield assessment, and unit or resource management. Missions add map constraints, new rules, and tougher opposition, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Maps, unit states, and action feedback determine whether complex situations remain readable, while the portable widescreen, UMD streaming, compressed audio, and handheld-scale interface need to preserve targets, text, and action readability. The genre-specific limitation is that tutorial depth, dense menus, controller pointing, and long scenarios increase the learning curve. Platform conditions also include single-nub camera control, UMD loading and noise, Memory Stick saves, battery life, regional language, ad hoc requirements, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Persistent campaign decisions reward commitment, despite dense rules and modest presentation.
This PSP Daisenryaku turns individual battles into a campaign worth managing. Funds and produced units carry forward, while weapons and crews gain experience and influence later deployment choices. Japanese and American campaigns, including expanded branching routes, give those investments lasting purpose. The appeal lies in researching forces and planning resources, not simply defeating another isolated map. Complex rules make it demanding for newcomers, however. Three-dimensional weapon models are serviceable on the small screen rather than especially refined, and small text needs attention. Responsive PSP commands, a widescreen window layout and caching of previously loaded battle assets make extended management more convenient. They do not remove the learning burden. Dedicated campaign strategists will find more here than players primarily seeking spectacular combat.
Strengths
- Persistent units and crews give decisions long-term consequences
- Branching campaigns support sustained planning and replay
- PSP responsiveness and cached battle assets ease repeat management
Weaknesses
- Dense rules create a steep entry cost
- Modest models and small text limit presentation comfort
Who it is for: Strategy players prepared to learn detailed rules and manage long-term campaign resources.
Play notes: This is the Japanese 2008 PSP release, not the PS2 version. Expect dense rules and small text; responsiveness and caching reports are not current measurements or instant-loading guarantees.
