About this game
Cronos: The New Dawn follows a Traveler searching a ruined future for time rifts into 1980s Poland. Explore the wasteland, manipulate temporal anomalies to clear paths, and gather resources to replenish limited ammunition and supplies. The mission also involves finding key people in the past and using the Harvester to extract Essences that accompany you into the future. Combat extends beyond bringing an enemy down. Other creatures can absorb fallen bodies through Merging and become stronger threats, so burning those bodies prevents them from feeding that process. Exploration, replenishing supplies and dealing with the remains of a fight all form part of survival in a setting where Eastern European brutalist architecture meets retro-futurist technology.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A pointed premise for horror players who enjoy managing the consequences of a fight.
Merging could keep attention on fallen bodies as well as active enemies, making a defeated creature a continuing tactical concern. Limited supplies and scavenging suggest a better fit for players who enjoy preparing for danger than for those seeking uninterrupted shooting.
Strengths
- Preventing Merging could give post-kill decisions a meaningful place in combat.
- Time rifts offer an intriguing exploration premise for players interested in investigating a ruined future through its past.
Weaknesses
- The need to replenish limited supplies may interrupt the flow preferred by players seeking continuous firefights.
Who it is for: Survival-horror players interested in conserving supplies, managing enemy remains and exploring a time-travel premise.
Play notes: If you prefer treating a defeated enemy as a resolved threat, the possibility of its body strengthening another creature adds a different responsibility.
